EXERCISE TIP: Squats


Squats are a great workout for your legs and butt. A squat can be done using solely your body weight, or with dumbells in your hands or a barbell across your shoulders.
Method:
  1. Stand with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Brace the abs by sucking your belly button into your spine. Keep your knees behind your toes.
  3. Keep your back straight and slowly squat as if you are going to sit on a chair.
  4. Squeeze and slowly stand up.
  5. Repeat 2-3 sets of 8-12 reps.

Note: When performing a squat, keep your eyes looking straight ahead. Exhale on the way up. To increase intensity, add weights or try a one legged squat.
