GUY'S TIP: Stick To Your Workout

Are you finding it hard to stick to your workout? Well you should know that every workout you miss can and will be used against you to make your muscles smaller and weaker, your belly bigger and your life shorter. You know that exercise is good for you, that it makes you feel healthier, leaner and less stressed, but why don't you do it then? It comes down to motivation, or should I say lack of it. It's the difference between wanting to exercise and actually doing it. Read on for some helpful hints to get your motivation up so you can keep your pant size down.
  1. Make a 'friendly' bet with a mate. Challenge your work colleague or mate to a contest. It could be to lose 5-10kg, run a half marathon or bench press 150kg.
  2. Compete. Find a sport or event that you enjoy and train to compete in it. Competing adds a greater meaning to each work out.
  3. Change training partners. Working out with a partner can push you to your limits, but they also holds you accountable to turning up to a training session. The more familiar you are with a training partner the easier it is for you to back out of a workout.
  4. Burn a workout cd. Get your adrenaline pumping by listening to your favorite tracks. This will help you pump more weights and push you to run longer.
  5. Plan your workouts in advance. At the start of each month, schedule in all your workouts. Cross them off as you complete them and if you miss any tack them onto the next month.
