
Phase 5 Camellia Tea oil is the latest oil to hit the supermarket shelves. Produced from the flower seeds of the Camellia Oleifera, this oil comes in Extra Virgin as well as a refined variety. Camellia Tea Oil is cholesterol free and gets the Heart Foundation's Tick for being low in trans and saturated fat. This oil is more than 80 per cent monounsaturated fat and contains less saturated fat than olive oil.
Camellia Tea Oil has a high smoke point meaning it is a great oil to cook with, whilst the slightly lower smoke point of Extra Virgin Camellia Oil is excellent for salad dressings. Camellia Tea Oil is a good source of omega-9 which may help to reduce inflammation. Both varieties of the oil contains vitamin E, an antioxidant which fights against free radicals and is believed to reduce the signs of ageing.
